2020[New Brunswick] COVID-19 Update

MEMO TO NBISP AGENTS & PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS

As global concerns continue to rise in the midst of the COVID-19 global pandemic, we, at Atlantic Education International ("AEI"), want to provide you with an update on our New Brunswick International Student Program (“NBISP").

We want to begin by assuring you and all natural parents that your international students are being well cared for here in New Brunswick, Canada. AEl continues to ensure that all host families are following the directives and guidelines of the Prime Minister of Canada as well as the Premier of New Brunswick and Chief Medical Officers for both Canada and New Brunswick.

On March 20, 2020, the Deputy Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development ("EECD") for New Brunswick informed all New Brunswickers that "New Brunswick's K-12 school system will be closed unti further notice." The Deputy Minister went on to say that "in the coming weeks, the anglophone and francophone sectors of EECD, in conjunction with schools, districts and professional associations, will pursue learning options for students and answer key questions." Therefore, until such time as we have received direction from EECD, we are not in a position to comment further with respect to the state of any student's academic year.

That being said, AEl remains committed to continuing its New Brunswick International Student Program, to the extent possible, and remains hopeful that the global COVID-19 situation will stabilize prior to June of 2020, so that students can return to their home countries on their scheduled return dates.

AEl does, however, recognize that the situation around the world is rapidly evolving and is, therefore, prepared to extend the 2019-2020 program, should one of the following circumstances arise: (i) we are unable to ensure the student's safe return to his or her home country; or (ii) a student has tested positive for COVID-19 or has been quarantined because of it.

We will be providing additional information to you in the coming days and weeks concerning the state of New Brunswick's education system as well as the terms of the 2019-2020 program extensions past June of 2020, should the need arise.

I hope you know that our partnership with you has been, and continues to be, extremely important to us, and we look forward to more stable times ahead. We encourage you to continue recruiting for the 2020 2021 school year but recognize that the circumstances surrounding the global COVID-19 pandemic are beyond anyone's control. Therefore, in the event that the New Brunswick school system remains closed in September of 2020, and we are unable to proceed as intended we are agreeable to a full refund of fees paid.

Sincerely,

Daun Pos
